Artist data and privacy

I don’t see data for my artist

We try to automatically detect as many artists as we can to pre-populate data (there are currently 650,000 in our database) but if we’ve missed your artist it will take a few days, sometimes up to a week, for the full data to start feeding into the dashboard. You can help speed up this process in two ways:

If you’re still having problems, contact our support team at support@musicmetric.com.

Who can see my custom events and notes?

Only you can see your custom events and notes. We take privacy very seriously and all connections to the Musicmetric application are encrypted and secure.

Will my custom events and notes be deleted if I downgrade my account?

We will keep your custom events and notes in our database in case you upgrade again, but they will stay hidden. Nobody else can ever get access to these except you. If you want us to permanently delete them, please email support@musicmetric.com.

If I connect my Facebook Insights, Google Analytics or other services – who sees this?

Only you will ever be able to get access to third party services connected to your account, for example – Facebook Insights. We take data privacy extremely seriously and all connections to the Musicmetric application are encrypted and secure. We use OAuth to connect to these services, so we never store your password on our servers. You will see Musicmetric in your list of Authorised Apps for the relevant service.

If I disconnect my third party service (Facebook Insights etc.) from Musicmetric – what happens ?

We’ll stop collecting data from this service for your artist. We will keep the historical data in our database so that you can access it if you want to re-subscribe, but it will remain hidden. If you want us to permanently remove the data, please contact support@musicmetric.com. Your data will never be visible or accessible to any third parties.

Who gets access to what data?

We only show publicly available artist data to third parties (e.g. YouTube play counts, BitTorrent download counts, etc). This allows you to compare yourself to other artists. We never disclose data owned by you (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) to a third party and we never will.
