Locating artist social network fans geographically

To access your artist social media fan location data, head to the “Fan Locations” page under the “Social Media” heading.

Currently, Musicmetric track fan location to country on Twitter, and to city on Myspace, according to the information that users have uploaded on their social network pages. The geographic distribution of artist fans and followers is displayed on our map, with darker colours indicating greater distribution of fans. The Location Panel to the right of the map displays a list of the top ranking regions for your metric.

Combined with our torrent downloads map, this gives a good general overview of the markets that exist for artists, both on a national and international scale, and can be a useful tool for a variety of purposes, such as optimising tour schedules, or targeting geographical segments of the market.
