To access data on your artist fan demographics, head to the “Fan Demographics” page under the “Social Media” heading.
The chart on the page displays the distribution of age and gender demographics for artist social media fans, according to information that users have uploaded on their social network pages. Currently, Musicmetric is tracking age and gender data on Myspace. This provides a good general fanbase overview, and when combined with our fan location and download location maps, is an effective resource towards understanding your fanbase demographics.
The y-axis of the chart displays fan age, and the x-axis is split between male (left) and female (right). The bars on the x-axis show the percentage of fans which occupy that particular demographic. For example, we can quickly see that the online fanbase of the band Tool predominantly consists of young men:

If you hover your cursor over a bar, you can view the percentage number for that demographic. As with the time series, if you click the bar the information will remain on your screen (click again to remove). The biggest demographic for the artist Shakira is 20-year old women:

The table below the chart displays all of the distribution figures, and is easier to use when looking for specific, detailed demographic information:

If you want to see more general demographic information, don’t forget that some simple charts can be found on the “Overview” page under the “Social Media” heading.
