Fans, plays, torrents and web buzz for artists performing at SXSW 2013 compared to 2012

As SXSW makes its highly anticipated return this year we take a look back at the social media buzz infographic we created for SXSW 2012 and compare the data to our newly created infographic for SXSW 2013.

Looking back at the fastest growing artists of 2012 we know that the top two artists Kimbra and Ed Sheeran have both had phenomenal success, with Kimbra sharing a Grammy win with Gotye for their monster hit “Somebody That I Used To Know” and Sheeran becoming one of the top selling British artist’s last year.

This year’s infographic sees rapper Kendrick Lamar experiencing the biggest growth in social media fans since his performance at SXSW last year and he was also one of the most mentioned artists in the media alongside Justin Timberlake who made his much hyped comeback this year. SXSW has always been known for providing a platform for upcoming talent and our infographic provides some insight into which artists will be causing the biggest stir in the music industry over the next few months.
